The 'Pink Bubble' Visualization Technique

In her book "Creative Visualization", Shakti Gawain presents a visualization technique she likes to call "The Pink Bubble".

I've used it many times (often spontaneously, without specifically intending to), and now I'd like to offer it to you as a gift (wrapped in pink foil) :-)

Here's the technique in Shakti's own words:
  • "Sit or lie down comfortably, close your eyes, and breathe deeply, slowly, and naturally. Gradually relax deeper and deeper.
  • Imagine something that you would like to manifest. Imagine that it has already happened. Picture it as clearly as possible in your mind.
  • Now, in your mind’s eye, surround your fantasy with a pink bubble; put your goal inside the bubble. Pink is the color associated with the heart, and if this color vibration surrounds whatever you visualize, it will bring to you only that which is in perfect affinity with your being.
  • The third step is to let go of the bubble and imagine it floating off into the universe, still containing your vision. This symbolizes that you are emotionally “letting go” of it. Now it is free to float around in the universe, attracting and gathering energy for its manifestation."

I want to share with you an interesting experience I had with this technique once, something that showed me once again how important it is to remain open-minded and alert during visualization exercises.

Just after I surrounded my "fantasy" with the pink bubble, I realized that the color of my pink bubble was actually clear-sky blue. Ooups! :-)

I mentally tried to color it back in pink several times (I was trying to follow the exercise), but doing so seemed like a huge effort and the bubble kept coming back to being blue. Bottom line: regardless of my efforts to visualize it in a certain way, my mind was telling me loud and clear that the bubble was actually blue, not pink.

I decided to take this as a form of guidance and look deeper for its meaning. I was amazed by the clear, profound answer I found within myself, proving once more that deep inside the truth had always been there for me to see.

The thing I wanted to see manifested was resolving a conflict with a dear friend and restoring our connection. Well, it turns out that my mind chose to wrap this vision in blue in order to give me a direct clue about how to make it happen

Blue is the color of the throat chakra, which governs our ability to verbalize and express ourselves (according to the Truth).  My mind was telling me that if I want to restore that connection, I will have to work on the level of communication: expressing myself truthfully and openly.

I did just that, and the connection with my friend was restored on our first contact (actually after all this we got even closer than before).

Weeks after, I repeated the technique once more (this time with the goal of reenforcing our bond) and I had no trouble at all "seeing" the bubble in pink. The "blue" issue had been resolved...

Conclusion: just like I said before, always remain open to what your heart and your mind want to tell you during a creative visualization session. Staying open allows you to receive valuable clues right from the "source". Use the techniques as a guide but allow yourself to creatively explore new possibilities and embrace what's coming to you naturally. Isn't it a pity to limit our possibilities when in our mind we have access to such a wealth of intuition and wisdom?
